Sunset
Date: 05/23/2004
This piece was originally part of the series I created for my digital photography class. I scanned feather butterflies and real flowers that I added in Photoshop. The sky was created with a KPT sky filter.
Angel
Date: 05/23/2004
This piece took a lot of work in Photoshop as I had problems with the wings because I used an alpha channel for the render and the wings were partially transparent once the background was removed, which was not what I wanted. I also believe I whitened the wings. There are many layers of flowers, which are scans of real flowers. The butterflies are scans of feather butterflies. I created the sky background in Photoshop using a KPT sky filter. This piece also required quite a bit of post-work to fix some rendering and shadow problems. This was originally a piece I made for my digital photography class.
Ivy
Date: 05/23/2004
ThiThis piece was originally part of the series I created for my digital photography class. It was also made with the season theme in mind, but it wasn't quite as obvious for spring as I would have liked, so I ended up calling it "Ivy." I added the scanned feather butterflies and real flowers in Photoshop. I also change the color of the hair texture in Photoshop, as well as added the sky which was created with a KPT sky filter.
Blue
Date: 05/23/2004
This fairy was mostly done in Poser; however, the scanned feather butterflies and real flowers were added in photoshop, as was the butterfly tattoo. The sky was created with a KPT sky filter. I also changed the color of the hair texture in photoshop. The was originally part of the series I made for my digital photography class.
Contemplation
Date: 05/24/2004
This piece was inspired by the artwork of Amy Brown. I used Poser, but also quite a bit of Photoshop as I edited the skin texture to put on the tights and also to add (and alter) the outfit directly to the skin as it was actually a texture for an outfit for Stephanie. I also used photoshop to curl her stockings, change the hair texture to blue, and to add the butterflies and flowers, which are scans of feather butterflies and real flowers.
Autumn
Date: 05/23/2004
This fairy was mostly done in Poser; however, the scanned feather butterflies and real flowers were added in photoshop. I also changed the color of the hair texture in photoshop. I think I might have also altered the skin texture to cover more of her chest. This is part of my on going season series that I started after the series I created for my digital photography class.
Winter
Date: 05/24/2004
I created this fairy for my seasons series. I edited the skin texture in Photoshop to create more cover, and I also added the scans of the feather butterflies and real flowers.
Rose
Date: 11/23/2004
This piece was created as an edition to the series I had created for my digital photography class. It incorporates most of the artwork "Crystal." This piece required more work than many of the others. This was one of the first face morphs I created (and I think one of the best to date). I added scans of real roses to the skin texture as well as the wing texture in photoshop. I also added the roses at her waist in post-work (as opposed to changing the texture) as well as the feather butterfly scans. The sky was created with a KPT sky filter.
Into the Woods
Date: 05/23/2004
This piece required a lot of work compared to some of the others. I wanted to make artwork of Arwen so I used the clothes and such that were made to be similar; however, I did alter them. I remember changing the laces on her dress texture in Photoshop. I also believe I shortened it. I also added her Evenstar necklace in Photoshop. I don't remember exact specifics as I made this piece a few years ago. The hardest part was painting the horse's mane and tail in Photoshop.
Passion
Date: 10/22/2007
This is a fairly recent piece and different from most of the others because the background was created in Bryce and brought into Photoshop. I scanned feather butterflies into Photoshop as well. I believe I also changed the color of the hair texture.
Date: 03/15/2007
This is a fairly recent piece and one of my favorites. This render was probably one of the most time consuming for a few reasons. The main being things I had to fix after exporting and importing. I started this piece in Poser and ended up finishing the fairy in DAZ Studio. I then eventually exported it in Bryce which is where I created the sky and water. Upon changing programs at one point the fairy somehow became problematic as the eyes and lips sort of sunk back into the head and the hair became incorrect as well. After messing with it I took care of most of it and then fixed the rest in Photoshop. In the end I was satisfied as I love the way it rendered in Bryce.
Waiting
Date: 10/22/2007
This piece is fairly recent and is one of the few that has a background created in Poser. This piece took a lot of work in Photoshop because of some render and shadow problems. This was the first in my gothic fairies series. With this one I wanted to convey loneliness.
The Hunt
Date: 01/01/2010
This is one of my newer pieces where I have moved into making art with new fantasy subjects. It was made quite awhile ago but I couldn't get it rendered out on the computer I had before. It is one of the first pieces I used AO and IBL on. It was originally entitled "Victoria" because it was inspired by the character of Victoria in the "Twilight" book series, but I thought the name didn't work well since the 3-D model is Victoria and most people would not understand the meaning behind the title. There is also an poem I've written to go with the art I will post in the future. All was rendered in Poser except for the background and postworked in Photoshop.
The original background before I changed the color, etc. was from a stock photo from JLStock on deviantArt.
Amortentia
Date: 01/01/2010
This is a more recent piece and is one of the first I created using AO and IBL. It is part of a series inspired by potions in "Harry Potter."
Felix Felicis
Date: 01/01/2010
This is a more recent piece and is one of the first I created using AO and IBL. It is part of a series inspired by potions in "Harry Potter." I still might rerender this with her dress in gold to match the potion.
Flame
Date: 01/01/2010
Water
Date: 10/21/2007
This is one of my newest pieces and is part of my new elementals series. Unfortunately this was only a test render and until I can get Poser running correctly again I cannot render a high resolution copy, so this is still technically a work in progress. The background is a stock photograph that I added in Photoshop. I'm also not sure about the rendered shadow yet.
Air
Date: 10/21/2007
This is another work in progress, due to the fact that my Poser is not working correctly so I cannot rerender. It is almost finished, but needs work on the lighting/shadows and also needs some things added to the background. This is part of my new elemental series.
Sparkling Light
Date: 05/24/2004
This was one of the first renders I made in Poser, and the final resolution is lacking. Unfortuately I lost the original Poser file. The lighting effects were created with AutoFX Mystical Lighting in Photoshop.
Vanessa
Date: 05/24/2004
This was another one of the first renders that I made (although the main pose could use some work); however, I am still pleased with this one even today, simply for the work I did in Photoshop. For the posters I used two different renders and used AutoFX plugins to wrinkle them and add tape. This one also required a lot of postwork to fix some rendering problems. Unfortunately this is another one that I don't have a high resolution version of, nor the original files.
Etheral Dream
Date: 05/24/2004
This was one of the first pieces I did. I focused on fashion rather than fantasy, however I did add the dream effect to bring it more into that category (I believe I used an AutoFX plugin). This piece required a lot of post-work to fix some rendering and shadow problems. Unfortunately I do not have a high resolution render nor the original poser file.
Gwenith
Date: 10/22/2007
This piece was rendered in Poser with the intended result of a high resolution closeup. Samil Danach is one of my favorite fantasy texture makers and they always render well up close. The background was a backdrop rendered in Poser that required a lot of post-work to make the color more consistant with the model. With this piece I wanted a unique cropping of a portrait, but also involving fantasy, as the model is a fairy.
Crystal
Date: 05/23/2004
This was originally created for my digital photography class and was made to compliment "Gothic." The hand was rendered in Poser, and I scanned feather butterflies and real roses that were added in Photoshop. I believe I created the globe in PhotoImpact.
Gothic
Date: 05/23/2004
This piece was originally created for the series I did for my digital photography class. I wanted it to have a gothic look. The hand was rendered in Poser, and the rest was done in Photoshop. The flowers are scans of real roses and the butterfly was a feather one that I scanned.
Date: 10/21/2007
This is a fairly recent piece and a work in progress. This is one of my first works using Victoria 4. I'm not quite satisfied with it yet, as I think the pose could be better, as well as the camera angle. Once I am able to render high quality in Poser again I will finish it. I think I may have worked on part of this one in DAZ Studio.
Fairy of Paradise
Date: 03/29/2005
This piece I created more than anything because I wanted to play with the "Paradise Hair," which is where the idea for the title came from. Another in my fairy series.
Sleepy
Date: 05/23/2004
This piece was originally used as a graphic for a "choose your path" type game that I helped create in Director. There were also some other scenes with this dragon that I created as well (I need to find them and then I will add them to the gallery).
Under the Sea
Date: 05/24/2004
This piece was made in my quest to make something in Poser that didnt include fairies.
Date: 10/22/2007
This was one of the first pieces I made with Victoria 4. She was originally intended be a fairy, but I decided against the wings, so she is now a wood nymph.
The Bedroom
Date: 10/22/2007
This piece is still a work in process. The vase and frame I believe I created in Maya. Everything was loaded and rendered in Bryce, because I wanted the mirror to have a true reflection. Unfortunately I did not have room walls of a decent resolution, and the lamp could do with a higher resolution texture as well.
